Every share transfer at JMI Investments meant handling multiple forms between families, lawyers, and brokers by hand, and share certificates were gathered and forms filled manually. The administrative workload of sending and receiving documents manually was limiting business growth. JMI Investments specializes in share management and investment services, and is a fast-growing firm dealing with complex share sales and transfers. Accurate transfers depend on up-to-date share price data, but the firm had no real-time market integration, so pricing had to be sourced and entered by hand for each transaction. Share transfer work also carries legal and compliance requirements, so every document had to be correct and defensible. The combination of manual form handling, manual data collection, absent market data, and a heavy document-exchange burden meant the founder’s time was consumed by paperwork rather than growth, and the volume of transfers the firm could process was capped by how much administration its people could absorb.

The Solution

QuickBooks handles financial tracking and record management. DocuGen provides automated document generation, producing standardized documents from legal-ready templates so legal and compliance complexity is handled by the system rather than by hand. Live share market data feeds auto-fill share prices in real time, removing the manual lookup that accurate transfers previously required. Delivery ran in three phases: Phase 1 covered process mapping and workflow design; Phase 2 covered system integration and automation setup; Phase 3 covered testing and optimization. Three specific obstacles were addressed in the build. Legal and compliance complexity was met with standardized document automation using legal-ready templates. Real-time market data integration was solved by connecting live data feeds for up-to-the-minute share prices.
